polygones (feature classes) in to one raster-data-set!

Hi there,

I hope someone can help me out here.

I created 5 feature classes every single class is a different typ of landuse and now I wanne have all classes in one raster data set.

I found already the tool - Polygon to Raster (Conversion) - but here I only can convert one class to a raster and not all classes.

What can I do?

The easiest way would be to merge or append the polygon featureclasses into 1 featureclass and then rasterize. You can also rasterize each featureclass with the tool you mentioned, but the merging process in raster format is a little more tricky.

If you do want to merge rasters, here are some suggestions

Mosaic To New Raster (in my experience, this works best when you specify the output bit depth to match the range of your data).
Use the Cell Statistics tool, with the DATA flag set so NoData is ignored.
