First of all, thanks for the reply.

I did try calculating the geometry. I created two new fields (type: double) and hit calculate geometry. For some reason, when hit "plot xy data", it was off from the original by anywhere between 1-60 ft with most of them being off between 20-40.

I suppose I was hoping there was a way to pull it out exactly. When you identify the points it gives you the exact coordinate and I was hoping there was some way to get that out.

edit: I was noticing that it was off only in the X directions (only to the right or the left, never up or down) and for some reason the first x field i made was rounding up and down, which is why it was off to the right and left. I created a new field for x and it gets the data I need.

Hey There,

Hopefully I am asking this in the right place, but I would love a point in the right direction on how to extract the x,y coordinates from Shapefile that was created from the "Make Route Event Layer" tool. I ran that tool and then exported the data into a shapefile, so now the "Shape" column is "Shape*" with "Point M" instead of the normal "Point".

Also, I running on Windows 7 with ArcDesktop 10

Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Royce Verboom

did you rule out adding appropriate X and Y fields (decimal etc) and use the Calculate Geometry option in the table?

So now that the calculate geometry can do that, is there any way to get the same final result through the model builder, or is the only way to open ArcMap and manually do it every time?
