This worked when I had an unprojected set of points, (GCS only specified) but this gave me distances in decimal degrees. When I go and reproject this point to convert them into UTMs (same projection as the line layer) and run generate near table it the process takes much longer and returns a table with no records. Right now both the points and the line are in NAD 1983 Harn. </SPAN><BR /><SPAN>One thing I do notice is under the properties of&nbsp; both layers the line is a feature class and the points are listed as shapefile.
