I am trying to use the following out-of-the-box GeoProcessing Tool within ArcGIS Desktop 10.7 (https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.7/tools/data-management-toolbox/download-rasters.htm).

When I use an AGS connection file to establish a link to the image service in the AGS env, it works. When I don't change anything, but try the direct address to the image service. Something like this: (https://servername/arcgis/rest/services/folder/Special_ImageSrvc/ImageServer) in the tool, it appears to work but does not download anything. Any idea why I need to use an AGS connect file instead of the full address? See graphic of the dialog boxes that I ran...

With the help of my BLM compatriots and the ESRI support team, we got a solution! The first parameter (the URL address to the Image Server) included a pointer the 'rest/' service. For instance, when I went to an altered URL, there was total success. The difference being the 'rest/' portion was taken out. Screenshot of Download Raster tool with a bogus URL without the 'rest/' part in the string-
