topic where is Composite Geodataset data type in Geoprocessing Questions

Hello all and thanks for taking the time to help...

I have a python script with the typical ArcTool UI. The user selects a geodataset (can be raster or feature layer). But then I would like the user to be able to choose a particular field from that Geodataset. But I can't figure out how. I add a parameter with data type "Field" but the "obtained from" dropdown won't let me choose the geodataset. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

I did some research and it seems like maybe if I used a "Composite Geodataset" data type, I would be able to source the field data type correctly. But "Compositie Geodataset" is not a data type option, at least in ArcEditor 9.3.1. Is this a license issue?

Hi guys,
When adding your parameters to your script, you only have to choose Dataset. This is the equivalent of Composite Geodataset. After looking around almost for a day I tested this option and it works 🙂
