Enhancing vertex resolution?

Dear Forum

Is there a simple way to enhance the vertex resolution of polygons?
I am projecting a global dataset and find that it gets distorted due to too few vertices along the polygon edges. Hence, I would like to automatically define a minimum vertex resolution.

Or, if you have just the ArcGIS Basic (ArcView) level, you can try out the free Densify function of ET GeoWizards, by Ianko Tchoukanski. He is a great resource - see www.ian-ko.com.

...and from the download page, his newest release 11.0 is compatible with ArcGIS 9.3-10.2.

Thank you very much. This was exactly what I was looking for! - and it does make sense to put such a tool into the edit toolbox; I think I looked in most of them, just not this one 🙂

I don't want to be a stickler about this and hope to see you back using the forums, but you should get into the habit of either checking a post as the answer and or awarding points if indeed your question is satisfactorily answered.

Award what you deem the best answer by using the toggle button to the right of the post that best answers your question (if more than 1 answer, choose the best). Otherwise, you may 'toggle' for point awards, different posts as you wish...think it's a limit of 1 'toggle' per user per post. It should help other users wanting to locate threads with answers and on a selfish note, you can help me close in on the 100 answer milestone!
