I am trying to do a simple join of five tables in a geodatabase. Afterwards I create a xy layer event after all the tables are joined. I tried it one time and it worked fine. I erased the resulting shapefile and added more steps into my process but now when I try it again the join process is not working. I get an ERROR 999999: Error executing function. General function failure Too many fields defined. Failed to execute (Join Field).

I tried checking the log to see what was the specific error but the log for today is empty. Can someone please help me.
