Exporting Online *lyr Layer file or Using it for analysis

Hello All;

Is there any way to export the *.lyr file which I downloaded from the web or using it for analysis?

I can view it on arcmap, I can see the information stored in each polygons within this layer file but I can not select or extract the data at all and I cant do any analysis as well.

I would appreciate your support.

Try the Copy Features tool in arctoolbox and make a copy of the features to a new feature class. See if that one can be used. What type of analysis tool were you trying to use? see if it accepts layer files (lyr) as input . Also, see if the lyr file has its attributes set to read only at the operating system level (right-click on the layer in File Explorer and check the properties there)

Unfortunately I keep receiving an error "one or more dropped items were invalid and will not be added to the control" .

below are the properties:

Data Type: ArcGIS Map Service
Connection: Internet
Server: https://portal.xxxxx
Name: Test
User:
Operations Allowed: Map (Display), Query (Identify), Data (Find)
Map Service Type: Not Cached

Do you think there is another way to export the data?

You would have to check with the originator of the data to see if the operation has even been enabled.
