Generate Near Table Problems in 10

Hello!

We would like to use the 'Generate Near Table' tool to find the nearest feature (1 feature) within 9000 meters. This function took less than a minute to run in v.9.3.1. It takes a minute (when there is a near feature) to never finishing in v.10.

We have incorporated this tool into a model where there will often be 0 features within the 9000 meter search radius. In v. 9.3.1, this would result in an empty table (which is what we want in this case) and then move on to the next process in the model. It looks like the empty table is being created in v.10, but the tool never 'completes' and just hangs.

Has anyone had this issue? Is there a reasonable work around?

Hello,

I am also having the same problem. I have a full arcinfo license and upon running the near table tool it never finishes running. If anyone has a solution to this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
