Need to fnd the Shortest Path Between two points on streets feature class like google

Hi All,

I am working on an application in vb.net that needs to create the shortest path route between two points on a streets feature class. I would really appreciate if anyone could give me an idea or a method to proceed in achieveing this goal.

Thats a job for network analyst if you are planning to use linear features, but if you can convert the roads to raster you can do a cost path using spatial analyst. Those are the simplest but may require you to make a purchase if your organization doesnt already have one of those.
