I suppose sticking with edit mode within arcgis dbf table will be the way to go.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <title>Import Shapefile Data into Excel?</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Is it possible to import data from a shapefile into excel and edit it, instead of doing a join to a database file?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;For instance in the image below is a shapefile of various counties in TX. Would it be possible to export the data shown below, open it in excel, add/remove/edit columns, save it and then open it back up in ArcGIS?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;[ATTACH=CONFIG]12674[/ATTACH]&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;If my question is not clear, please ask for clarification.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
