I am interested in a similar issues. I need ot create a sustainable roading index for roads and trails in National Parks.
To achieve this I need to calculate the erosive potential of road segments (length of segment and fall over segement length). Anyone got any advise.
Max Beukers NSW National Parks and Wilslife Service

I'm a Master's student at the University of New Brunswick and have the task of developing an interface to allow users to obtain water runoff flow rates by clicking on a river/road crossing. The interface will calculate flow, including storm events of 2-year, 5-year, 10-year and 100-year levels to aid in culvert design. I have recent LiDAR elevation data for the area along with a stream layer. Has anyone done similar modelling to this application? Will Python scripting offer me the best way forward or is there maybe another option? Thanks

Dan
