Request for Latest UPDM UML Diagram

I would like to request the latest UML diagram for the Utility and Pipeline Data Model (UPDM). I’m specifically looking for the conceptual model in both Visio (.vsdx) and PDF formats, if available.

@WassimEzzeddine The Utility and Pipeline Data Model (UPDM) and related artifacts are published at Gas and Pipeline Referencing Utility Network Foundation

The package includes UPDM Data Dictionary in HTML and Excel formats. You may use Generate Schema Report tool for additional formats as stated at Geodatabase Schema Reports blog

However, a UML diagram is not included in the package as most data modelers and developers have transitioned to other modern tools. There are applications like Enterprise Architect (by Sparx Systems) that can be used to generate UML diagrams. Refer to this note about the use of UML for geodatabase design

I am curious of your organizational needs for a conceptual model diagram? Specifically requirements that are not fulfilled by the UPDM Data Dictionary

This request comes directly from our client, who is more comfortable working with a UML diagram for reviewing the data model structure. While we appreciate the availability of the UPDM Data Dictionary and schema reporting tools, the client finds the visual nature of UML more effective for understanding and communication purposes.

Given this, may I ask if Esri plans to include a UML diagram for UPDM and other industry in future releases other than using external tool.

@WassimEzzeddine Thanks, seems like diagram is a user preference. The UPDM Data Dictionary can be used for understanding and communication purposes.

As in Geodatabase Schema Reports blog roadmap includes a graphical representation of your data model. So, once this enhancement is available, users may use Generate Schema Report tool to get a geodatabase diagram.
