Hello everyone, my name is Scott and I am looking forward to participating with other GIS professionals here in the Esri Young Professionals Network.

I am a graduate of George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography (GPA 3.75 with Magna Cum Laude) and Northern Virginia Community College (GPA 3.57 with Summa Cum Laude) and have a cumulative total of over 9 years of experience in the use of GIS. I seek to use GIS technical skills in the workplace to solve real-world geospatial problems my experience includes the use of ArcGIS products such as ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro, with a strong understanding of ArcGIS tools to run process models and produce cartographic data/maps to accomplish geospatial projects, as well as proficient use of Microsoft Office Products. I am also currently learning how to use SQL Database and Python scripting languages.

My experience in GIS professionally was with CDM Smith from September 2022 to January 2026 (was promoted to a GIS Specialist 2 in March 2024), and then with Trinnex from January 2026 to March 2026 (Trinnex is a subsidiary of CDM Smith) in Fairfax, Virginia. Unfortunately, my GIS team was abruptly and unexpectedly laid off in March 2026, and I am currently unemployed.

I am currently looking to network with other GIS professionals as I seek to develop a professional network of other GIS professionals and look to attend ESRI events in the Northern Virginia area as I seek to resume my career. Any networking opportunities and upcoming events would be appreciated.

Here is my Linkedin Profile if you would like to connect:
