Might need to get a look at the data to better assist but you might be able to convert your vector data to a raster. Sounds like you might have 1 polygon with attributes for depth and velocity; so you could run the conversion twice and switch out the source attributes accordingly. That would get you 2 rasters, one for each variable, that could compare/analyze using the raster calculator. Sounds like you might be working towards creating a severity grid (depth x velocity).

Again, some of the approach would depend on the input data but let me know if you have any questions.

Hi,

I am using the Infoworks ICM flood modelling software and I am exporting the results in to ARCMAP so I can create some flood hazard mapping based upon the shapefiles exported. The exported shapefile contains data about depth and speed of the water. I need to extract these values for each cell and then compare them. The comparsion polygon should then be coloured depending on the combination of depth and flow etc.

Any ideas?

thanks
