ArcGIS Pro Hardware Requirements and Cloud-Based Access for the Spatial Data Science MOOC

Hello everyone!

My name is Oladele Adegoju, and I'm excited to join the Esri Community.

I'm a second-year Surveying and Geomatics student at Rivers State University, Nigeria, and I'm also studying Computer Science at the University of the People. My interests include GIS, remote sensing, spatial data science, surveying, and geospatial AI. I'm looking forward to learning from experienced professionals and connecting with fellow students and GIS enthusiasts from around the world.

I recently enrolled in the Spatial Data Science: The New Frontier in Analytics MOOC because I want to build practical ArcGIS Pro skills. I'm very excited to participate, but I've encountered a hardware limitation.

I ran the ArcGIS Pro System Requirements Check, and my laptop does not meet the recommended requirements for the course. The results are:

System Specifications

Operating System: Windows 11 – Pass
Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 7320U (Quad-Core, up to 4.1 GHz) – Pass
RAM: 8 GB (32 GB required) – Fail
Dedicated Video RAM (VRAM): 2 GB (8 GB required) – Fail
Total Video RAM: 5 GB (8 GB required) – Fail
Free Disk Space: 117 GB – Pass

I contacted the Esri Training team, and they encouraged me to continue with the MOOC. They also suggested exploring the possibility of using a cloud-based or virtual machine environment if I don't have access to a compatible computer.

I'm hoping the community can help answer a few questions:

Has anyone completed this MOOC using a cloud-based virtual machine?
Which cloud platform or service did you use (for example, Azure, AWS, or another provider)?
Does Esri provide a cloud-based computer for participants in this MOOC, or do I need to create my own virtual machine?
Does Esri provide a cloud environment for MOOC participants, or is setting up my own virtual machine the only option?

I'm a beginner with ArcGIS Pro but very eager to learn and committed to completing the course. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
