Excel into ArcGIS 3.0 hangs

Working on a very simple spreadsheet - rows are state/county, columns are population from census. Nine total rows.

ArcGIS Pro 3.01 hangs on an import. I can’t import anything. This is a new computer. I’ve tested the file as a CSV and it goes right in. I’ve patched with .NET current version. The rows conform to ESRI needs (no spaces, alphanumeric) in both Excel and CSV.

This is a new computer from Dell, no modifications, latest Office 365. All patches applied.

Ideas?

Hi,
It sounds like it might be due to MS Access DB Drivers. I've had some kind of similar issues with users and Pro/Excel which has been solved by installing new drivers.
At least have a look here maybe? Install the drivers to work with Microsoft Excel files—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation
