Error in searches including 'ñ' or spanish related characters

Hi,

I'm testing geoportal server and I've observed this odd behavior, related to searches including the character 'ñ' or other hispanic-specific characters like 'á', 'é', 'í', 'ó', 'ú'. For example:

- If I launch the search for the term 'año' from the geoportal "Home" page, it retrieves the expected results
- If I launch the search for the term 'año' from the geoportal "Search" page, it retrieves no results at all

After that, if i return to the home page, the text of the searched term has changed from 'año' to 'a�?±o'

I think it has something to do with the language, so I've followed the directions on localizing the geoportal found at: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/geoportal/index.php?title=Localization#Localize_the_geoportal_web_interface, but it hasn't had any effect.

I just realized this also happens in esri's example geoportal:http://gptogc.esri.com/geoportal/catalog/main/home.page

It's supposed to be like that???
