topic Historical Map Source/Extent Issue in ArcGIS Enterprise Portal Questions

I need assistance with a historical mapping problem.

I traced a historic map i.e. created blocks, streets, water bodies, etc.

I manually added the street addresses to the streets file i.e. from and to addresses for nearly 700 segments.

I later defined the projection for the layers: Geographic Coordinate System: GCS_WGS_1984.

I have not been able to enter the correct Source/Extent/Top Bottom Right Left to match the cities actual geographic location (Charleston, SC).

I have georeferenced historical maps to current base maps in the past, but I wanted to retain the quality of the map image without warping it beyond recognition.

Most importantly, I want to ensure that all of the layers experience the same update.

The next step is to create an address locator and geocode addresses.

If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

projections# historical maps #geocoding
