Dear All
Am trying to Add XY data into ArcMap, the data is in CSV form, when I go to add XY data and browse to the CSV file, the X and Y field to specify are empty, even from the drop down nothing. As a result I have to convert the CSV file to an ordinary excel file for me to import the XY data, surely life shouldn't be that difficult. Am using 9.3. I remember some years back we had to convert an excel file into DBF file before importing into ArcMap. nowadays excel 2007 soes not have a provision to convert to DBF file, does antone know the easiest way of importing XY point data? e.g a CSV file other than going round converting?
Thanks in Advance.
Mwape
