Upgrade to 11.x Story Map Classic

I am thinking about upgrading from 10.9.1 to 11.3 and the esri website Classic Esri Story Map suggests that we

" Remake them using ArcGIS StoryMaps or one of the recommended alternatives before upgrading ArcGIS Enterprise."

Will it not function after the upgrade?

EDIT: We self-host the story map on our own server

Hi @RickeyFight, that is correct the StoryMaps will be marked as deprecated and non-functional after the upgrade. I normally just make a backup in word.
