topic Turn on Editing- VB.Net in Developers Questions

I am new to coding and trying to learn from the code snippets but I am struggling with this. I simply want to be able to mimic turning layers on and off for editing in VB.net. If a certain layer is turned off for editing I would like it so that when a user clicks a button it automatically checks that layer as editable. Any tips or direction would be great!
