    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;It would be great if the javascript api could be leveraged in node based applications so that we could leverage some of the helper classes that don't need a web map. e.g.&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN style=""&gt;require('esri-arcgis-Portal')&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For example, the new geometry engine could be used to perform basic spatial operations and the Portal class could be used to access a user's information and content.
