A look into BLOB files explained the why anyhow.

It would however be very useful to access them in GIS from outside without duplicating.

Thanks!

Paul

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who has a relatively simple answer to the question of how exactly attachments are stored as 'blobs' in a geodatabase table?

Paul

Why are you interested in knowing how attachments are stored as BLOBs?

Would you by any chance have files (e.g. images) stored in BLOB fields in a non-GIS database that you would like to access in GIS without having to save these files again in a GIS database in a BLOB field to eliminate data duplication?
