The Create Feature task could not be completed. The coordinates or measures are out of bounds

I keep getting this error when trying to create lines. I have gone through and modified my extents in my feature class and created new feature classes with specified extents that are larger than the area I need to draw in. It keeps giving me the errors. Any ideas?

When you create a feature class with any projection the default extent should be good - do not change it.

Try to put a layer in the same projection in ArcMap with some data and add features using this as reference layer.

You can always take some of ESRI world data, project it (or parts of it) to your projection and use it as a reference layer.
