    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Oracle installation and configuration is a *huge* topic unto itself.&amp;nbsp; Esri documentation&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;only covers the ArcGIS-specific bits of Oracle configuration.&amp;nbsp; It's not appropriate (or &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;neccessary) for Esri to dictate how Oracle (or any other enterprise RDBMS) should be&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;administered; the closest you'll find is the Educational Services classes, but even they&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;start with RDBMS installed on the machine.&amp;nbsp; The RDBMS vendor is going to be the best&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;instructor for best practices in their enironment.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;- V&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

ArcSDE + Oracle 11gR2&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp; 4. I copied st_shapelib.dll into "C:\app\curs\product\11.2.0\dbhome_2\BIN\"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Into tnsname.ora I put st_geometry library:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;(ENVS = "EXTPROC_DLLS=C:\app\curs\product\11.2.0\dbhome_2\BIN\st_shapelib.dll") &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;When I try to create a enterprise geodatabase using &amp;lt;Create Enterprise Geodatabase&amp;gt; I get the following message:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-style:italic;"&gt;The ST_Geometry shape library path may be invalid, or the EXTPROC is not configured correctly in the Oracle instance. [ (Unable to determine current version of ST_SHAPELIB. The latest ST_GEOMETRY and dependent libraries need to be copied to the correct software location.
