I have been faced with the same problem. It isn't a cotinuous line but little blips of pixels that are no data in some places because I am mosaicing US and Canada border.

I tried to reclassify the nodata to zero and then do a 'fill sink' with ArcHydro but it changed too much of the actual hydro lake values as well.

Is there any way to define the nodata pixesl WITHIN a dem and only reclassify these to the average of the surrounding pixels? That would be a perfect fix.

Thanks,
Caroline

I am trying to Mosaic three USGS DEMs, but each time I do, a seam appears between the boundaries of each. When I zoom in and identify the values for the seam, it indicates pixel value "no data".

I have looked at other posts for similar problems, tried the "fixes" but still have the seams generating.

I am currently working in ArcMap 9.3.1

Any ideas of what to try to get rid of or prevent these seams from generating?

Yes thank you William!! I have just found another thread that posted a syntax to use and I am just now checking its accuracy. Thanks again for the link, I have a feeling I will use it in the near future 🙂

Caroline
