Any automatching function??

Hi guys!
Does anyone know some sort of magic function/tool that can help me to identify and match upstream and downstream nodes for pipe network? I have nodes and pipes in two separate shapefiles. Is there any way to identify which node is US and DS and add relevant columns into pipe network shp?

Hi Gani,

Have you looked at the Utility Network Analyst toolbar in ArcGIS? Geometric network is a powerful way to model the type of reality you've explained.

Geometric network was the one I was looking for.
Now, I don't have to switch between Excel and AcrGIS.
