I have a project where i'm taking Cad Files and putting them into a feature class in Arcmap. Have created a field in the attributes table, so that we can name each polyline. (This polylines are roads in are Subdivisions.) I have a half dozen polylines out of 400 or so that the labels will not show up on my map.

My Question is can someone tell me why? I have tried several work a rounds and still does not make any difference.

Labels can be a sticky area in ArcMap. There's a plethora of reasons why things can go awry.

For starters, I'd turn on Maplex if you have it and play with the settings. That may quickly resolve things.

See if that helps. If not, there are several other areas to look at (but it gets messy fast).

Hi Preston,

Have you used key numbering option in Fitting strategies of Maplex Label Engine?

It could be an option when other fitting strategies fail.
