Geodatabase upgrade Fails - 9.3.1 to 10 SP1 - SQL Server

All,

I'm attempting to upgrade a geodatabase from 9.3.1 to 10 SP1. I run the 'upgrade geodatabase' tool and get thru the prerequisites fine. However, it fails almost immediately giving the following error message at the end:

Could not update ArcSDE server tables and stored procedures.
Unpaused the database.
Failed to execute (UpgradeGDB).

Any thoughts on this? Is there any way to get more information on what is causing the failure?

Providing info about the complete configuration and error message helps narrowing down the issue in such cases. You can refer the following post and see if it helps:

If it doesn't please post the complete error message encountered. You could also look for errors in sde_setup.log.

Hi Chris,

Prashant's suggestion of looking at the error logs would be the best place to start. You can find them in your %TEMP% directory. Look for "sde_setup.log", "sdedc_SQL Server.log", and "GDBUpgrade<#>.log".
