I wanted to export one shape file to coverage using ArcGIS 10. However, it fails to do with an error message, 'Feature class to converge'.

Deal member,

I am a new user of ArcGIS. I wanted to export one shape file to coverage using ArcGIS 10. However, it fails to do with an error message, 'Feature class to converge'. Can any one suggest as to how can I overcome this problem?

DVK Nageswara Rao

Dear Nageswara Rao,

Can you please share some more details so that we can understand what is the problem in your side.

In ArcGIS 10, the new method of running the ArcCatalog tools from within ArcMap will works fine if you are facing here then try to run the tool from ArcToolbox externally from a separate session of ArcCatalog will work perfectly.

and look at the below check points to over come your problem.

1). Check that you are not trying to export into a personal or file geodatabase instead of as a shapefile.
2). Try to use geoprocessing tool "feature class to feature class" in arcmap/catalog.
3). make sure that you are not trying to export same shape file name in the same location.
4) make sure that there are no special characters in the field headings of the table? Special characters or fields that start with a number will cause problems in ArcMap.

Hope this helpful...!!! Gud luck..!!!!

Ganesh N
