I've done that in the past, create two shapefiles for each raster (line file and poly file), and then convert lines to polygons.
Lena

Hello,

I am trying to automatically digitize forestcover polygons from dashed lines using ArcScan and it is not quite working out. I have used the gap closure tolerance setting and that seems to work very well for creating lines, however, when I go to directly create polygons it doesnt detect that gaps and just creates polygons around each individual dashed line.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Byron
