    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;We have an ArcSDE installed on a Windows SQL 2005 installation.&amp;nbsp; There are 11 SDE services that are successfully running.&amp;nbsp; We have one service which will not start and generates a Event ID 109 in the Windows Application Log.&amp;nbsp; Unfortunately, the description of the event is:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BLOCKQUOTE class="jive-quote"&gt;The description for Event ID ( 109 ) in Source( esri_sde_...) can not be found.&amp;nbsp; The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer.&amp;nbsp; You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details.&amp;nbsp; The following information is part of the event: .&lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The comment about a remote computer is a red herring as I'm viewing the Application Log on the SDE Server itself.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;So my questions are:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Has anyone seen an Event ID 109 on an SDE Server before and fixed it?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Does anyone know how get the Application Log to display the useful description of the error?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;James.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
