    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I am exporting a simple point layer to KML.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I am using the "Layer to KML" tool in the "Conversion Tools" toolbox under ArcGis 9.3.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;When I open the resulting KML file and then I zoom in, in Google Earth, the symbols disappear when I'm around 40 km of altitude.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Is there a way to create a KML file where the symbols are visible at all heights?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;After you have converted to kml, in Google Earth; right click on the layer in your kml file and in Properties under the 'Altitude' tab, change the drop-down to 'Clamped to Ground'. Then save in Google Earth and after that the symbols should display no matter what your altitude is. I am still looking for a way to make this happen in ArcMap ahead of time, though.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks, msmart.&amp;nbsp; This helped me today.&amp;nbsp; With the latest version of the Layer to KML tool there is a check box to clamp to ground.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
