topic How to calculate zonal statistics on a multiband raster? in Data Management Questions

Hello!

I am currently working with a 3-band TIFF image of that uses color intensities to reflect flood levels (the image uses a color scale with 13 discrete classes of flood depths). I would like to assign these 13 classes to the raster within ArcMap. However, this appears to be an issue with a 3-band TIFF image.

I also have a shapefile with census tract regions overlaid on this image. I would like to calculate mode, maximum, and mean (if possible) flood level statistics within each census tract. This seems like a task for Zonal Statistics in the Spatial Analyst toolbar, but this only works with single-band rasters.

Thus, I have two primary issues: first, how would I go about classifying values according to color within the raster? Second, how would I then use this classification to calculate statistics within zones?
