Unfortunately my polygon is not a real polygon as many very small segments are unconnected in the dataset resulting in poor extraction by that polygon. I was able to get rid of obvious ocean cells with a raster calculation of pixels less than 1, which lines up fairly well with the island shorelines, although now I am having trouble figuring out how to extract the rest of the raster at the Canadian boarder, which is essentially a polyline.
