topic If I delete an archived feature class, will the associated states be deleted also? in Data Management Questions

We have a non versioned archived feature class with MANY states. The archiving of the data was for use with collector and disconnected editing and we do not need the archived data, it was simply a requirement. Does anyone know if I delete the feature class from the database will the associated states be deleted also? The database will not currently compress, so I thought maybe this was a way to get the states table under control.
