SDE.default not compressed

I have only one version name as "SDE.default" ,concurrent users are editing on SDE.default version .

when i run compress statement its give me message compress successfully .
but when i run the command "sdeversion describe" the state id is not reducing its continous increasing.

Check to make sure no users are connected to the database when you execute the compress. Also, if you have any replicas be sure they are synched before the compress.
