      <title>UNABLE TO INSTALL ArcSDE 9.3  FOR DB2 9.1</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hey people,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I tried to install ArcGIS 9.3 SDE on my Windows server 2003 Machine with DB2 9.1&amp;nbsp; FP 5 (incl. DB2 SpatialEdition).Though i could finish the installation successfully&amp;nbsp; i am unable to complete the&amp;nbsp; Post Installation with the following steps.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; step1:&amp;nbsp; I chose to run the post installation using CUSTOM option and &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; step2:&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; chose&amp;nbsp; REPOSITORY SETUP,AUTHORIZE ARCSDE,CREATE ARCSDE SERVICE in the select ArcSDE setup&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; wizard option and &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; step3: chose the default files in the ArcSDE configuration files setup window and &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; step4:&amp;nbsp; entered the credentials.And the following error pops up..&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;ArcSDE Repository was unsuccessfully completed. Would you like to view status? and when i click yes i can see&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; ESRI ArcSDE Server Setup Utility Thu Apr 29 15:24:25 2010&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;----------------------------------------------------------------&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Creating ArcSde schema.....&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Error: Underlying DBMS error (-51).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Error: SDE release install not completed. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; Check SDEHOME\etc\sde_setup.log for more details.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;An when&amp;nbsp; i open the sde_setup.log file i can see the following.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;[Thu Apr 29 15:24:25 2010] Instance initialized for sde . . .&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;[Thu Apr 29 15:24:25 2010] S_registration_scan: -204, 42S02&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;S_registration_scan: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/NT] SQL0204N&amp;nbsp; "SDE.TABLE_REGISTRY" is an undefined name.&amp;nbsp; SQLSTATE=42704&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;[Thu Apr 29 15:24:25 2010] ERROR installing/upgrading ArcSDE, Error = -51&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;After the Installtion and before the Post Installation I created a DB2 Database as described in the manual. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Can someone help me on this...&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
