topic Trace Tool Won't Trace CAD data in Data Management Questions

Hello,

I've been trying to sue the trace tool to trace some CAD data into a polygon feature class. At first, I brought my data into ArcMap and start an edit session. Of course, when I did that, I get the popup message saying the CAD data isn't editable because it didn't have a coordinate system.

Ok, that's fine. I export the CAD data to geodatabase and give it the same coordinate system as my polygon feature class. I bring my data into ArcMap again and initially, I could trace the exported CAD data. I'm working away, go to save my edits and start working again and the trace tool won't trace anymore. I can still snap to the CAD data and when I start tracing I get the, it won't. I have no idea why (especially since it still snaps). I've tried to re-export the CAD data. I've tried creating a new feature class. I'm at a loss? is there something I am missing?

Thanks,
Mike
