There are many variations on "CAD" file. Would have to play with the data to see what is going on.

If you could export it from it's native application that would likely work better. Do you know how hatching is produced on a route feature in ArcMap? There is no linework for the hatching as it is a symbology based on measures. It could be the hatching on the CAD lines is a symbology in the same way.

Why not just turn the lines into routes and symbolize with hatching?

Just wondering if anybody knows how to get a hatch feature in CAD into GIS. When i view the file in CAD all features show up, however, when i bring into GIS the feature will not show up. Not knowing much at all about CAD is there anyway to get this data to show in GIS?
Thanks!
