Select by attribute

Hi,

I work on ArcGIS 9.2, Windows XP.

I have records in an attribute table of a personal geodatabase like the ones shown here (Field 1 is in black and Field 2 in blue). Both are text fileds.

Field 1 Field2
84A ALFRED ST, ONEHUNGA 59 ALFRED ST, ONEHUNGA
67 ALFRED ST, ONEHUNGA 67A ALFRED ST, ONEHUNGA
1 ALFRED ST, ONEHUNGA 1A ALFRED ST, ONEHUNGA

I would like to select all the records that are 'matched' between Field 1 and Field 2. In this example, the second and third records are matched (and should be selected), but not the first.

Can anyone perhaps help me with a select by attribute query that will achive this?

Thanks
Hanlie

[Field 1] = [Field 2]

Thanks for the reply, but this won't match, for example

67 ALFRED ST, ONEHUNGA to 67A ALFRED ST, ONEHUNGA

as I want it to.

So, basically I want the match to ignore letters that are added to the numbers and just match on the number.
