    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi Mostafa,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You can modify One of your MXDs to fit your general Layout demands and then use the&lt;A href="http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//00s90000002w000000"&gt; "Change Layout" command&lt;/A&gt; to apply it to all the other MXDs.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There are 2 ways which might help you with automation of the process with different approaches:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1. &lt;A href="http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2010/09/24/getting-started-with-python-map-automation/"&gt;Using Python code&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2. &lt;A href="http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2011/01/28/data-driven-pages/"&gt;Using Data Driven Pages&lt;/A&gt; (One MXD for all the maps).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You can also &lt;A href="http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2010/12/14/combining-data-driven-pages-with-python-and-arcpy-mapping/"&gt;combine these 2 methods&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Good Luck&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <title>Best practices for MXD PlottingTemplate</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am working with more than 100 Topographic Maps using same Legend elements except some variables, for each one I have to create an MXD Plotting Template.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What is the best practice to manage these mxds ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Mostafa&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
