I have a v10 composite locator in SDE that was created using the SDE user. It is comprised of 3 locators in SDE and one hosted by ESRI. It works perfectly when using it as the SDE user, but accessing it with other accounts is not working. I have set permissions to it and am able to see it when adding a new locator in ArcMap, but when I try to geocode with it I get the error "The address locator cannot be opened. A locator with this name does not exist."

I can use the individual locators with all accounts, so it appears to be isolated to just the composite locator. I have also published it to a locator service through ArcGIS Server and using it in web applications or through the Find Address Candidates works great. But if I try and use the service in ArcMap I get all unmatched results. Not making any sense to me and hoping someone might have some ideas of things to try next.

Thanks,
Josh

Did you ever recieve an answer to this issue. We are having the same problem, the only user that can use a composite locator is the one that created it

ESRI tech support was able to recreate this problem and have created a bug from the incident.

Details:

[#NIM068106 Receive error 'The address locator cannot be opened.
