Basicallly I have a valley, through which is running a river which I will subsequently dam. Alongside this river is a road which will have to be moved once the river is damned and a lake is formed. I am trying to find the most appropriate new path for the road using cost distance tool. I have a 5m DEM of the area from which I have generated the slope. I also have a variety of vector data such as an outline of the catchment Im working on and a habitat class map of the area. I want to display the best road redirection based upon the slope of the terrain and am using my slope data (which I have reclassed). I am unsure, however, what data to use as my 'Input raster or feature source data'.
