Annotation

Hello,

I'm hoping it is ok for me to ask stupid questions. I'm fairly new to GIS using arcEditor.

I am wondering if it is possible to lock the size of annotation at a certain zoom level without creating an annotation layer.

Example: I have a map with feature points and in the attribute data is Address information. I want to take the Address number and label the feature, but when I zoom in and out of the map the text increases and decreases in size as well as moves within the feature. I adjusted the text to stay on top of the feature to prevent it from moving, but then I loose the ability to adjust the direction.

Example some text is too large to fit horrizontally, so some text I want to display horrizontal and some vertically.

I know that I could create an annotation layer and add it to the map, but it would mean recreating all the annotation and placing it properly on the map, as well as when a property changes I would have to adjust the annotation and the attribute table.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Walter
