Hi Simran,

If you set the spatial reference of the data frame to the desired spatial reference (Here UTM Zone 43N) then, after update georeferencing, you should have that spatial reference in the dataset. What is your map data projected to - the data that you are georeferencing to?
Video
Hope this helps.

Robert

Hi Robert,

Thank you very much for the reply and for the video file. Actually I was trying to georeference an Google earth image saved as .jpg format. After adding all control points and checking of RMS error I wanted to save the data link as .txt format and after setting of PCS ( WGS_1984_UTM Zone 43N) and also updated georeferencing. And after that I was trying to open the georeferenced map in ArcMap window and setting the visible unit as 'decimal degrees' the Y value is showing '0' not only that at the time of using 'calculate geometry' functionality the Y field is generating '0' value of the point feature having the same PCS (WGS_1984_UTM Zone 43N). May be it is a minor fault but the problem is same there.

Thanks and regards,
Simran

Hi!

I am here by facing a problem in georeferencing a scanned image. I have added 5 control points in image and after 'Update Georeferencing' I wanted to edit the Spatial reference into 'WGS_1984_UTM_Zone_43N' projected coordinate system in Arc Catalog. But after creating a point .shp file and opening it to ArcMap whenever trying to generate the X,Y data into attribute table the Y field is showing '0' data and not only that in 'data frame properties' - general tab if I want to set the display unit as Decimal Degrees the y value is showing the '0' for both North and South. I am being unable to solve the problem. But using the same image if i am setting the spatial reference as 'the 0 for both North and South' geographic coordinate system the X and Y value of a point feature is generating the exact data in Decimal Degrees mode and also visible in the display unit but at the time of generate the area information of a polygon feature it is referring to go for PCS. Tell me the solution plz, repeatedly i am facinf these problems at the time of georeferencing a scanned map.

Thanks in advance,
Simran
