topic Display Order in Mosaic Datasets in Data Management Questions

Pardon my assumed ignorance with Mosaic Datasets. Can someone please tell me an easy way to add a few rasters (varying resolutions) to a mosaic dataset, feather the edges, and control the order at which they are displayed (higher resolution raster on top)? I've managed to get the "Blend" mosaic operator to work some, but as I pan around the map, the higher resolution rasters turn on and off for some reason. I've tried controlling the display order using attributes, both in the MaxPS and the ZOrder fields. Where am I going wrong?

When you define the mosaic order, are you setting the order in the mosaic dataset by setting the default or manually changing the method in ArcMap? Simply adding the values to the field is only halfway there. You have to specify the default mosaic method in either spot to utilize the values you have specified.
