Tables participating in a replica generated empty,

I wanted to create a replica from an ArcSDE geodatabase (parent) to a file geodatabase (child) but sounds that the tables replicated on the child geodatabase are found to be empty. Other features classes are replicated successfully.

[ATTACH=CONFIG]25292[/ATTACH], [ATTACH=CONFIG]25293[/ATTACH]

What might be the issue here?

I think Jake Skinner (ESRI) described the issue and solution in this thread:

The screenshots in that thread are no longer there, but the setting Jake is referring to is the one under:

Expand Feature Classes and Tables (optional)

in the Create Replica dialog. You need to choose "ALL_ROWS" instead of "USE_DEFAULTS" to add all records in case of tables.

Unfortunately, I tried it but sounds not to work. The resulted table in the replica is still empty.

[ATTACH=CONFIG]25295[/ATTACH], [ATTACH=CONFIG]25296[/ATTACH]

Just in case it works, do we need two replicas (one for feature classes and one for tables) to replicate all the data from the ArcSDE geodatabase to the file geodatabase?

I haven't yet had time to test the replication of a table myself, but this Help page says:

"For tables the default filter is Schema Only; only the schema for the table will be replicated. To apply a filter to a table you must first create a table view setting desired filters. You can then use this as input into the Create Replica tool. See the Make Table View for more information. For more information on filters and replication see Preparing data for replication."

It seems you may need to make a Table View first, and use that as input for the Create Replica tool.

I don't know the reason for this, except maybe that most (or some) stand-alone non-spatial tables part of geodatabases, may actually be very big and actively maintained tables from business systems, for which it is better to only replicate a selection of the data really necessary in the child replica, to avoid excessive data traffic between parent and child.

Sounds that there is no direct way to have the non-spatial data replicated the same way as for the spatial data.

Does this behavior continue in 10.2?

This is the second challenging issue I got regarding the ArcSDE geodatabase. The first one was how feature classes can be added to an existing replica. In this case, no direct solution is available neither.

As you have already recommended, I used the �??distributed geodatabase�?� toolbar to create the replica and it worked fine

[ATTACH=CONFIG]25315[/ATTACH], [ATTACH=CONFIG]25316[/ATTACH], [ATTACH=CONFIG]25317[/ATTACH]

Hope that they will fix the behaviour of the geoprocessing tool in 10.2.
