I'm currently working on a mapping project, and for this project I am required to geocode the location on features in Washington DC, using an attribute table I have in an excel doc. I've already geocoded the features for the other cities, however for Washington DC, the geocode task returns a 0% match no matter what I do.

The obvious reason I came come up with for why this happens, is because Washington DC, isn't located in a U.S state, and is instead a stand alone district. Therefore the process gets confused when I enter Washington, DC as the state for the geocode-able features. What is the solution to this? What do I put in the 'STATE' field when I am geocoding features?

Please let me know.

For the state just use DC. It should then be able to geocode the data.
